FAQs About Dance & Theatre Classes for Children

How do I register my child for a class?

Please send an enquiry using the enquiry form on the contact page. Alternatively please call the Showshack office on 01252 723956

What should my child wear to Showshack Theatre Sessions?

We have recently introduced a uniform asking all students to wear a Showshack T Shirt which is available to order by downloading the Uniform Order Form. Showshack tracksuit bottoms and hoodies are also available to purchase but any plain black tracksuit bottoms, leggings or jazz pants are acceptable. Dark coloured trainers, black jazz shoes, plimsolls or jazz trainers, all with non-marking soles are suitable footwear. Please do not wear heeled shoes, Ugg style boots or sandals/flip flops. Long hair must be tied back for dancing.

What should my child wear to Dance Classes?

We have a uniform for all syllabus dance classes which can be found on the uniform page. Our Street classes have the same uniform as our Showshack theatre sessions.

What do I need to bring to Showshack Theatre Sessions?

There is a tuck shop at the Junior/Senior Showshack sessions where you can buy a drink and snack but please feel free to bring your own drink. Please note we have children at Showshack that have nut allergies. We do not have a tuck shop at Showshack Mini’s, we ask parents to pack a drink and snack for a short break – nut free please.

Does Showshack run Holiday Courses?

Yes from time to time. Please look out for further details of forthcoming courses on the website.

Do Showshack students perform in shows?

Yes. Showshack has produced several school shows in aid of Charity. The last show took place in November 2015 at the Princes Hall, Aldershot, details of which can be found here. All students are invited to take part but it is not compulsory.

Are parents allowed to watch classes?

Friends, parents or relatives are not permitted to view classes unless there are special circumstances and prior arrangement is made with the office. Parents are welcome to wait outside the hall if they are concerned about their child. Presentations of classwork are given twice a year, and students are also encouraged to audition for Showshack Musical Productions which are held at The Prince’s Hall, Aldershot. We also have a dance competition held once a year where trophies are awarded to the best dancer in three categories. We invite a respected dancer from outside Showshack to judge the competition.

How do I pay the fees?

Fees are payable on the first day of term. PLEASE do not forget! If a student begins in the middle of the term, you will be invoiced for the remaining weeks in that term. Fees can be paid by BACS, cheque or cash by prior arrangement. BACs is our preferred method of payment but if you wish to pay by cheque please make payable to Showshack.
